After a gruelling and extensive screenings in the different provinces of Ilocos Region (Ilocos Sur and Norte, La Union, Pangasinan and Abra) the organizing committee of the inaugural Mister Ilocos 2019 search finally revealed the twenty-one official candidates for the maiden edition of the pageant.
Head of the organizing committee Mr. Fahd Bhanie Agbulos was happy with the roster of candidates for 2019. “The entire organization of Mister Ilocos pageant is very ecstatic with the outcome of our initial search so far. We are very pleased with the turn out of the screening in the different provinces and the support of our sponsors from private companies and local government here in our province”, Agbulos says during the media presentation held last March 16 at the scenic Villa Gloria Beach Resort in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur. The resort is one of the sponsors of the pageant where the candidates enjoyed the relaxing ambience and its top class amenities. Villa Gloria Beach Resort is the venue of the press presentation and the fun shoot of the official candidates last March 16 and 17. Ferdinand Abejon of Missosology who is part of the organizing committee was thankful to all the support of the media from Manila who covered the press presentation, official sashing and photo shoot of the candidates. He said that its about high time for the Ilocos to have its own region wide male pageant search. The other member of the executive committee is Gerald Montero who is also on hand with the activities of Mister Ilocos.
Mister Ilocos search aims to promote the tourism industry of the province as well as to preserve its cultural heritage. They are looking for a true blooded Ilocano who can be the voice of the organization to be of service and role model of the young generation in the entire region.
In the next few weeks the candidates will embark on a tour of the different landmarks of the provinces of Ilocos and to discover its origin and significant events that became parts of the Philippine history. A series of pre-pageant activities awaits the gentlemen before the much awaited grand finale slated on May 18 tentatively at Thunderbird Resort and Casino in La Union.
